With a PhD from York University in Education (2012) and a focus on meaningful learning in Canadian history education,\u00a0Dr. Samantha Cutrara<\/a> has become an expert in her field of teaching and learning history\u00a0in both traditional and non-traditional sites of education.<\/p>\r\n\"\"\r\n

As a\u00a0History Education Strategist<\/strong><\/em>, Dr. Cutrara develops strategies, projects, and programs to help organizations and individuals teach history in interesting, meaningful, and comprehensive ways. This has been done by\u00a0developing museum exhibits and related programming, writing curriculum and creating resources for archives, leading professional development sessions for educators, and building\u00a0partnerships amongst\u00a0organizations\u00a0and individuals.<\/p>\r\n

In 2017-2018, Dr. Cutrara was hired by the\u00a0Office of the Vice Provost Academic<\/a> at York University as a Curriculum Specialist to\u00a0manage the\u00a0Academic Innovation Project<\/a> (AIF):\u00a0Digital Humanities and Social Sciences for Teaching & Learning<\/em>. In 2019, she continued her work at York University developing curriculum related to experiential education<\/a> for the Office of the Associate Vice President, Teaching and Learning<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n

Dr. Cutrara's first manuscript,\u00a0Imagining a New \"We\": Canadian history education for the 21st century<\/em>, will be published by UBC Press in 2020.<\/p>\r\n
